Lil Bub x Yetee Gallery

I made a series of 58 hand-pulled, hand-painted one of a kind Octopus prints for the 5th season of CSA: Community Supported Art. (It is just like a FOOD CSA only instead of a crop of mystery produce you get a crop of fresh, local, surprise ART.)

This is the second time I have participated in this wonderful project.

2014 CSA: Community Supported Art

It's just like a regular CSA but instead of fresh food crops you get shares of fresh/surprise ART throughout the season!

I'm excited to announce that I am once again participating in the CSA: Community Supported Arts program by Springboard for the Arts.

I contributed these fox prints (above) to the inaugural season of the CSA program back in 2010 and I am thrilled that they have commissioned me to make some exclusive new works for this, the 5th Anniversary season. This year I'll be trying something new and different for me - I'm making my own hand-pulled prints. Each one will have hand painted details so it will be truly one of a kind.

If you buy a share you will get a SURPRISE, new, original and exclusive-to-this-project work of art by each of the following artists:
"This anniversary season of CSA contains the work of 9 artists previously featured and well-loved by shareholders. Art A Whirl 2014

Art A Whirl, an annual, weekend long event, is the largest open studio tour in the country!

It is SO MUCH FUN. You must be there if you are anywhere near Minneapolis.

The artist and curator will discuss the work, the process, the vision and the outcomes of JOYRIDE. Davis’ exhibit was provided supplemental funding by the Next Step Fund from the Metropolitan Regional Art Council/McKnight Foundation. This funding allowed the artist to travel and research the subject matter for this new body of work. Khutoretsky and Davis will also discuss the benefits to both the artist’s career and the community, as a result of this generous artist support.

"ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
After viewing old Super8 reels depicting family visits to the county fair in the early ’70s, Jennifer Davis found herself intrigued by circus and carnival imagery. Preliminary online research led her to the discovery of dozens of vintage carousels and carousel museums between Minnesota and the East coast. In the summer of 2013, Davis set out on an 8-cities-in-8-days research trip to study, photograph and sketch antique carousel animals and classic vignette paintings. She toured carnival museums, met with restoration experts and generally immersed herself in carnival culture. Joyride is the product of the findings from this focused exploration: a complete body of large-scale paintings inspired by vintage carousel animals and traditional carousel vignette paintings."
