Paint-By-Numbers Community Mural Project at Mia in Minneapolis

My Paint-By-Numbers Community Mural Project at the Minneapolis Institute of Art was so fun and dreamy!

I made two large number/color-coded, mural-sized drawings and invited the public to join me in bringing them to life with paint.

AND THEY DID!

And it was so BEAUTIFUL and FUN!

We also had coloring pages! It was neato to see adults (and children!) coloring together and having some good chats.

Here's my Instagram Reel about the project- with more photos and clips:

(You have to go to my Instagram - at @JenniferDavisArt - to see it in all its glory- cuz Youtube/Blogger won't let me share the copyrighted music here.)

I think the murals turned out great! You can peek in the art studios next time you're at Mia (Minneapolis Institute of Art) to see the finished projects:

Thanks for lookin'.

P.S. I'd looooove to do this again- with adults or kids- or both!

You can hire me to organize and lead this SUPER FUN activity for your group or org: jenniferdavisart@gmail.com

New Garden Mural in Minneapolis

During the most perfect, gorgeous, fall Harvest Supermoon weekend, I painted a little garden/garage mural in Minneapolis! I had a blast painting under a big tree full of birds and squirrels.

(I use the Merlin Bird Identifying App to identify the bird sounds - it so fun and it's free. Get it!)

New "Make Believe" Mural at EIHC in Cedar Rapids, IA

In August I completed another large mural- at the Eastern Iowa Health Center's new Pediatrics building in Cedar Rapids, IA!

"Artist Jennifer Davis paints a mural Aug. 11 on the front wall of the Eastern Iowa Health Center’s pediatrics clinic in southeast Cedar Rapids. The center, a federally qualified health center serving Eastern Iowa, has seen significant growth in recent years — and sees more potential to serve the community. (Jim Slosiarek/The Gazette)"

A video of the making of the mural!

Work in progress

3 New Murals

Brand new garage mural, "Meeting Place"

I had a great time painting a garage mural in Falcon Heights, MN (with the help of my lovely assistant, Brad!) Some details:

AND THEN- I got to travel to Manitou Springs, CO to paint some mural panels for the Creekwalk Trail in the back of the adorable Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau/Office of Economic Development Building.

These are 8' tall- and the photos were taken in the dark because the mural coating caused a glare with the lights on- LOL. I hope to get better photos when these are installed outside.

The design sketches.

My friend Amy Crickenberger Oeth joined me for the assist! Her grandma had a shop in Manitou Springs (Manitou Mocassins) so she spent a lot of time there over the years. I had a blast touring all of her favorite spots. Thank you, CRANE (Creative Alliance Manitou Springs) and Visit Manitou Springs for hosting us!

Lots more photos of the painting process over on my Instagram page!

Saaaaaaay, do YOU need a garage mural?

Or a mural to help put your business on the map?
