MplsArt Sketchbook Project and Exhibition

One of my contributions to the traveling sketchbooks.

 The Project: 

The 2020 MplsArt Sketchbook Project is a unique survey of the Twin Cities Visual Arts Community during one of the most challenging years. 68 local artists contributed 120 pages of original work to a series of 5 traveling sketchbooks.

Artwork from the Sketchbooks has been compiled into a book! Get yours here.

The Book:

The sketchbook pages have been compiled into a beautiful 88 page hardcover book with all net proceeds split among the featured artists. You can get a copy NOW via Kickstarter (we have already reached our Kickstarter goal but you can still get a book for the next 54 hours!)

The Exhibition:

An exhibition of original works from the participating artists and a chance to see the original sketchbooks at Gamut Gallery in Minneapolis.

"Hicks says of the video: “John and I have long admired Jennifer Davis’s distinctive palette and her soulful blend of realism and fantasy, and we’re thrilled with the world she and Joshua have imagined for ‘Only Smoke.’ I originally wrote the song as a sort of dialogue between four characters, and to my ears John’s vocal interpretation preserves that conversation while creating a compelling composite character. Jennifer and Joshua have further transformed and enriched the song and its narrator(s). We’re honoured to have prodded their beautiful collaboration.”
