New $25 Tiny Showcase Print!

$25 prints of my painting "Sweetest Fruit" are available right now via Tiny Showcase!

I have chosen Free Arts Minnesota to receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this print.
"Free Arts Minnesota is a non-profit organization that creates curriculum and holds weekly art mentorship sessions with children who have experienced poverty, homelessness, abuse or mental illness. The organization works to give hope and inspire a more positive future through the healing power of art. $250 dollars from the sale of Jennifer's artwork will be donated to the organization." 

"Sweetest Fruit" is an edition of 100 prints by Jennifer Davis. With a small border for framing, the print measures 8" wide by 8" tall. The archival print was created by Tiny Showcase and ships with a corresponding certificate of authenticity. The archival artwork has been printed on a heavy 290gsm natural white print making paper made from 90% bamboo fibres and 10% cotton.

McNay Museum Art Fair in TX

 I just sent two giant boxes of new paintings to GrayDuck Gallery in Austin, TX.
They'll be on display at the McNay Museum Art Fair (on Fri, Sept 11) in San Antonio and then they'll head back to GrayDuck in Austin, for a mini-show in their Decoy Gallery in October.

Tomodachi & mtTape Exhibition and Launch Party

This is my "painting" for the "Tomodachi & mtTape Art Exhibit + Launch Party at MOA." 
Opening this Sat Aug 29th, 2015. 

"Please join TOMODACHI at our Mall of America location for a special art exhibit and launch party featuring artwork created with Japanese washi tape brand, mt masking tape, co-presented with Minneapolis contemporary art space Public Functionary. Come down, celebrate with us and see some amazing artwork!

The TOMODACHI x mt tape exhibit will focus primarily on the use of the Japanese washi tape brand as a contemporary art medium. 19 artists were challenged to create an original piece that reflects their personal style, with a fun, pop art twist. From incorporating the tape into paintings, drawings or prints, to crafting wearable fashion pieces and facilitating in-store installations, the artists have been given free creative reign to produce vibrant, colorful works using this unconventional, dynamic material.

During the event, attendees will enjoy an interactive art activity with Los Angeles-based exhibiting artist, urban planner and Place It! innovator James Rojas, who specializes in educating people about the role that urban planning and design play in shaping how we live. Rojas will invite participants to decorate small cubes with mt tape that can either be incorporated into a mini-city installation or taken home as a souvenir.

Here's me- clearly enjoying the hands-on tape activities.

The event will also feature complimentary snacks and soft drinks sponsored by Coca Cola and TOMODACHI, in-store specials, hourly raffles and the delightful musical stylings of DJ SALLY spinning J-Pop, K-Pop and everything in between.

Hand-Painted Test Prints

I have just added 14 new, one of a kind, hand-painted Sloth/Maneki Neko "Lucky" test prints to my Etsy shop. 

These prints are BIG (24x30"!), 8 color screen prints with hand-painted details.

(I am all sold out of the original, numbered edition.)

I hand-painted a pair of PF Flyers for a fun collaborative exhibition hosted by MN4MN.

"The MN4MN Blank Canvas Project aims to explore the intersection of art, design, fashion and photography. The project invited 13 local Twin-Cities artists and photographers to collaborate on a showcase of inspiration and creativity."

13 Minnesota Visual Artists were given free reign with a pair of blank PF Flyers. The finished sneaker art objects were then passed off to 13 Minnesota photographers who were invited to photograph the remixed/recreated artist created sneaker objects into a fine art photograph. 

There were no constraints placed on any part of the process so I think the results will be really fun. 

I haven't seen a preview of any of the other work...can't wait!
