My Life In Pictures

I have just completed a massive interview/profile for this fabulous new arty website, ArtisanIdea.com.

They asked me to go in depth about how my work has changed over the past 10 years.
(The above collages are from 2003.)
It was a real trip going through all my work from the past ten years. You can see and read about my life in pictures by clicking "Retrospective" here.

They also made some nifty little Quicktime/slideshow thingys that show how I made a few of my paintings. You can read about my process and see the vidoes by clicking "Process" here.

We also did a big old interview and you can read that by clicking- you guessed it, "Interview", here.

There are loads of great artists on the site, including my fellow Minneapolis artist, ChuckU.
I can't wait to devour all of the interviews.
This was a really fun project- THANK YOU, ArtisanIdea!

"Four weeks of evolving artworks created collaboratively between CO Exhibitions' parent companies Permanent Art & Design Group and Burlesque of North America along with a roster of hand-selected Twin Cities artists.

For the entire run of WORKING TITLE, dozens of pieces of art will be passed around, communally embellished, tinkered with, and re-worked in CO's Northeast Minneapolis gallery space, as well as in the artists’ own studios. Each week for four weeks, a new opening reception will occur, and each week the artwork will change--fluctuating not only in style, concept, and number of contributors, but also in price, scale, and media. Pieces sold at any given opening will not be worked on further, remaining on display as they were at the time of purchase.

Bike Art Book

Some of my bicycle themed paintings are featured in this new book:

Bike Art * Bicycles In Art Around the World by Kiriakos Iosifidis.

When I was approached about participating in this book early last year I had no idea how amazing and beautiful it was going to turn out. I just received my copy in the mail and it is FABULOUS beyond my wildest expectations.

You can buy it (and take another peek inside) at Amazon.com.
Thank you, Kiriakos! I am so lucky to be included in your book.

Beautiful Decay

"Jennifer Davis is a painter based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota with, among other things, a great color palette, mixing muted hues with more vibrant pops of pink and yellow. Her paintings are delightfully quirky too. I mean, have you ever seen a skeleton wearing striped toe socks, or a purple goat sporting a multi-colored sweater? Well, you and I have now." - via Beautiful Decay

Moco Loco

Today my paintings are featured at Moco Loco.
curtain, 8x9", acrylic/charcoal/graphite

"Monsters and architecture appear to be new themes that flow through work by Minnesota artist Jennifer Davis. Some of the contrasts are bolder, some of the colours are brighter, but Davis continues to serve up her blend of whimsy. The usual suspects (girls, animals, patterns) share the canvas with houses (inside and out), the boogeyman (and pals), a Movember old soul and some colourful flora, to name but a few new offerings."
